July 10, 2011

This week has been full of fun!!!! We had a great 4th of July. We ate our yearly KFC on the 4th at the Sandy Trax Station. We went early to get a good spot on the grass to see the fireworks at the Sandy Civic Center. They were really great this year. The girls, before leaving to see the fireworks, asked about 20 times if we were still going and /or when we were leaving. Karyn especially wanted everything to be the same as last year and the year before. I think I smell a tradition.....

Dylan ran away this last Wednesday. I think he is not very happy and is trying to find happiness and freedom. I wish he could understand that freedom and happiness comes from doing what is right.

Katelyn Turner visited us right before the 4th of July. She is becoming such a beautiful young woman. She will be turning 11 years old in two days. It is hard to believe three years have gone by since the first time we met her. She was so different then. She really has gone through so uch. I admire her faith and strength.

We are continuing to get our house more organized. We have organized the linen closet, the pantry and the living room. One day our entire house will be organized!!!! The kids are helping more and complaining a little less. I really notice a change of spirit when our house is organized and clean instead of chaotic and cluttered.

Also, we have started to paint our house again. We painted the downstairs bathroom a greenish blue color and want to accent with red. Our dining room is halfway done. When finished it will be lemon cream and brioche (orange).

Our garden is doing awesome. We are very blessed. We have lettuce (volunteer), peas (not very many), strawberries (only 5 so far), corn (a lot), peppers (we already have some almost ready to pick!), tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, broccoli, carrots, basil (bonus plant that came with one of the pepper plants), rhubarb, onions (walla walla and green), green beans, melons of some sort (volunteer), cilantro (volunteer),and sunflowers (volunteer). Now, we will see how they grow and produce. We have been working really hard and are hoping and praying that we will have a successful year.

Brian is changing jobs again. He will be staying at 3-Form but going back to the project manager position. He feels like this is a good change and will open up more opportunities in the future.
